Lavender oil has been used and cherished for centuries for its unmistakable aroma and myriad benefits. In ancient times, the Egyptians and Romans used Lavender for bathing, relaxation, cooking, and as a perfume. Its calming and relaxing qualities, when taken internally, continue to be Lavender’s most notable attributes. Applied topically, Lavender oil is frequently used to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. Add to bath water to soak away stress or apply to the temples and the back of the neck. Add a few drops of Lavender oil to pillows, bedding, or bottoms of feet to relax and prepare for a restful night’s sleep. Due to Lavender’s versatile properties, it is considered the must-have oil to have on hand at all times.

Esseterre, a local distillery owned by doTERRA, works with over 75 lavender farms who bring their lavender to the facility from a small radius around Dobrich, Bulgaria, as lavender should be distilled within one day of harvesting. The entire annual production of our lavender takes place in just 3 to 4 weeks every year. During these weeks, Esseterre employees work around the clock to ensure the highest quality of lavender oil possible.
Although its colour is most brilliant in the early summer, we harvest our lavender plants in July. Once its bright purple colour has started to fade from exposure to the summer heat, the plant produces higher quantity and quality oil.
You will find your Quality ID on the bottom of doTERRA single essential oil bottles purchased after May 2016. The Quality ID will contain a series of six or seven numbers and one letter.
