Uses
- Add 1-2 drops of essential oil to warm, bottled water or juice and drink or add to cooking. When making bread or sweets, adding a small amount adds flavor and aroma.
- Rinse your mouth with one drop each of lemon and peppermint essential oils in water to clean and refresh your mouth.
- Add 2-3 drops to smoothies.
- Smelling essential oils can help you feel better.

Why Oregon, USA?
Different climates and soils impact the chemical profile of the peppermint plant. The Pacific Northwest is an ideal climate for growing peppermint because of the high and consistent amounts of rainfall each year. This contributes to a high menthol content, which gives peppermint its minty aroma and flavour.
How Does it Work?
Peppermint, a hybrid of watermint and spearmint, is a perennial plant. The essential oil comes from the aerial parts of the plant (everything above the ground). When peppermint is ready to harvest, it is cut down to the ground, then left in the field for a few days to dry. It is then chopped up before distillation. About one pound of peppermint leaves produces one 15 ml bottle. During autumn, the material left over from distillation is used as mulch.
