Oregano
Origanum vulgare
Oregano is a perennial herb that grows up to 1 m high. The essential oil is produced through steam distilling the aerial parts of the plant. It is usually wild-harvested when the flowers bloom once or twice a year, but it can also be cultivated. Our supplier works with a network of hundreds of small-scale farmers in Turkey.
Marjoram
Origanum majorana
Marjoram is a perennial herb that comes from the mint family. Marjoram is native to the Mediterranean and thrives in Egypt’s climate. It has tiny, white or pale pink flowers in clusters. The leaves are ovular and a grey-green colour, which are dried and steam distilled to create the essential oil.
