The Douglas fir is a coniferous tree that grows in North America. This tall evergreen tree is often used as a Christmas tree and has a refreshingly sweet, citrusy feel. Douglas Fir essential oil is sustainably extracted from young trees in New Zealand, where it is a highly invasive species and has therefore become a threat to the local ecosystem. By harvesting the young trees and using them to extract its essential oil, doTERRA is helping to combat the environmental impact that the invasion of these trees has caused, while offering a product of the highest quality. Douglas fir has a unique chemical composition that is particularly rich in beta-pinene. In addition, it can also be used to help comfort the skin and promote a positive mood.
