Peppermint is a hybrid of water mint and green mint, and was first described by Carl Linneaus in 1753. Copaíba essential oil is derived from the resin of the Copaíba tree, which is found in tropical South America and can reach over 30 meters in height. doTERRA Copaiba essential oil is extracted from four plant species: Copaifera coriacea, C. langsdorffii, C. officinalis and C. reticulata. Since the 16th century, it has been used in traditional practices of the natives of the North and Northeast of Brazil, and is now widely used in the making of cosmetics, including soaps, creams, lotions, and perfumes.
