The main chemical component of Oregano is carvacrol, a phenol that has powerful properties. Because of its high phenol content, care should be taken when inhaling or diffusing Oregano essential oil; only one or two drops are necessary. In addition, Oregano should be diluted in doTERRA Carrier Oil when applied to the skin. The aroma of Oregano acts as an enhancer and equalizer when blended with other essential oils.

Why Turkey?
Oregano is a perennial herb that grows up to 3 feet (1 m) high. It is typically grown and used for the spice industry. The essential oil is produced through steam distilling the aerial parts of the plant. It is usually wild-harvested when the flowers bloom once or twice a year, but it can also be cultivated. Our supplier works with a network of hundreds of small-scale farmers in Turkey.
